Privacy Policy & Local Processing Disclosure
Effective Date: November 7, 2026 • Applies to transcript.getswitchhelp.com
1. How Your Video Files Are Handled
When you select or drag-and-drop a video file on transcript.getswitchhelp.com, the file is read strictly inside your web browser's local memory using the HTML5 File API, Web Audio API, and a Web Worker.
- We do not upload your video file or extracted audio buffer to any server.
- We do not store, log, or transmit your generated transcripts.
- Closing or refreshing the browser tab immediately clears the decoded audio and transcript from browser memory.
2. Open-Source Speech Model Download & Browser Caching
To transcribe English speech without sending your audio to a remote server, your browser downloads the open-source Xenova/whisper-tiny.en speech recognition model and the Transformers.js WebAssembly runtime from public content delivery networks (cdn.jsdelivr.net and huggingface.co) on your first run.
Those model files are saved in your browser's standard Cache Storage (caches API) so you do not have to re-download them each time you transcribe a video. You can clear this cached data at any time through your browser's site data settings or by clicking the button below:
3. Standard Static Hosting Logs
Like any public website, our static web host and CDN receive standard HTTP request metadata (such as your IP address, browser user-agent, and the timestamp when you load index.html) to deliver the webpage and protect against abuse. These access logs never contain your uploaded video files, audio buffers, or transcript text.
